We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Commodity Trading Risk Management (CTRM) to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in delivering strategic and operational initiatives across trading, risk, and compliance functions for Commodities trading clients. We work across a broad range of commodities business from Oil and Power to Metals and Agri.
You will collaborate with traders, risk managers, IT teams, and senior stakeholders to analyse business requirements, improve processes, and support the implementation of CTRM systems and solutions.
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements across commodity trading and risk management function
- Work closely with traders, middle-office, operations, credit, treasury, and finance stakeholders to understand trading workflows, exposure management and reporting need
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications (BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and user stories)
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards
- Support the implementation, enhancement, and optimisation of CTRM systems
- Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements
- Hands-on implementation of user requirements
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Support test planning and execution
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst
Strong domain expertise in Commodity Trading Risk Management (CTRM)
Knowledge of financial/commodity instruments (physical oil knowledge ideal)
Exposure to system integration or transformation projects
Familiarity with combined Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams
Data analysis skills (SQL, Excel, Power BI or similar)
Knowledge of risk metrics (VaR, PnL, exposure reporting)
Experience with regulatory frameworks impacting commodity trading (especially around biofuels and certificates)
