Quastels LLP values diversity and is committed to equality of opportunity in employment.

About the role: Quastels LLP is looking to recruit a Property Litigation Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE into its busy Property Litigation team. Reporting directly to the Property Litigation Partner, you will run your own caseload of commercial and residential property disputes acting for landlords, tenants, investors and developers whilst also supporting more complex higher value matters. The role requires you to take conduct through all stages: drafting all pre-action correspondence, pleadings, applications, witness evidence and instructions to Counsel; attending meetings and hearings (County Court, High Court, FTT); managing case budgets, risks and deadlines; and providing clear commercial advice to clients, often on an urgent basis. You will work directly with clients and liaise with Counsel, experts, managing agents and other professionals as required. Business development forms part of the role: contributing to pitches, articles and client seminars, and helping to build and maintain key relationships.

Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with 3-5 years PQE in property litigation gained at a reputable practice. You will have solid experience across the core property litigation skillset outlined above, with particularly strong landlord & tenant expertise, and a thorough working knowledge of the CPR and relevant legislative frameworks. You will be confident running your own files from start to finish, commercially astute, and able to draft high quality pleadings/advice with precision and attention to detail. Above all, we need someone personable, proactive and keen to grow with the team and the firm’s property practice.

Terms: Competitive salary (to reflect experience) and benefits package.

Key responsibilities: You will handle the full range of property litigation work including (but not limited to):

  • Rent and service charge disputes;
  • Possession and forfeiture claims;
  • Dilapidations;
  • Lease renewals and termination provisions under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954;
  • Nuisance and trespass claims;
  • Rights of way/easements;

Qualifications: 3-5 years PQE in property litigation gained at a reputable practice. Solid experience across the core property litigation skillset outlined above. Confident running your own files from start to finish. Personable, proactive and keen.
