Overview
This role sits within the Air Domain supporting the Air Support area of DE&S. The position operates within a dedicated Quality Assurance skill group providing governance, assurance and continual improvement across supplier performance and product quality. The role supports Rotary Wing and Uncrewed Air System (UAS) programmes, working within the Safety and Engineering team to provide assurance against the Government Quality Assurance (GQA) framework and ensure supplier capability, performance and risk are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage adherence to the Government Quality Assurance (GQA) framework
- Provide independent assurance of supplier and supply chain capability and performance
- Support risk management activities relating to contractor selection and delivery
- Generate technical quality requirements and documentation for acquisition programmes
- Support investigations, root cause analysis and supplier escalation activities
- Plan and deliver quality surveillance activities across supplier delivery
- Provide QA advice to delivery teams and suppliers on quality requirements and compliance
- Support verification, validation, testing and acceptance activities
- Develop quality assurance strategies and governance approaches across projects
Experience
- Experience working within Quality Assurance in an acquisition or engineering environment
- Experience engaging with suppliers and supply chains within complex engineering programmes
- Understanding of risk management and quality assurance within regulated environments
- Experience supporting quality governance during system acquisition and delivery
- Ability to provide technical advice on quality standards, legislation and policy
- Experience contributing to supplier assurance, surveillance and improvement activities
Desirable
- Experience working within DE&S or MOD acquisition environments
- Knowledge of Government Quality Assurance (GQA) processes
- Experience supporting rotary wing, air systems or defence aviation programmes
- Professional membership or registration within engineering or quality disciplines
