Location: Hybrid - MOD Abbey Wood / work from home, with travel to Glasgow/Clyde circa twice per month

Rate: Up to £750/day (Inside IR35)

Overview: This is a Level 4 Nuclear Safety Engineer role within the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) Acquisition domain. The requirement is for Nuclear SQEP support in the development of the integrated safety case and definition of safety management systems.

Key Tasks and Deliverables:

  • Support in the development of the integrated safety case and definition of safety management systems, including:
  • Preliminary Safety & Environmental Report (PSER): A draft PSER has been completed; however, there are safety assessments that have not been completed and will be completed for Design Review 1 (DR1). The outputs from these assessments need to be incorporated in the final version of the PSER to be issued for DR1.
  • Support the delivery of these safety artefacts by the contractors and manage their integration into the PSER. Support shall include attendance and input to safety working groups to develop Safety Functional Requirements and the management of records within a central repository.
  • Completion of the PSER shall include the management of feedback from the review of the draft PSER by the Clyde DA and key stakeholders, and the coordination of the updates required for the release version.
  • Key Deliverable: Preliminary Safety & Environmental Report (PSER) - final version.
  • Updates to Programme EUSTON Safety & Environmental Management Plan (SEMP): Updates to the SEMP for DR1.
  • Safety Working Groups: Secretariat to the bi-weekly safety working groups.
  • Programme Safety & Environmental Committee (PSEC): Secretariat to the quarterly PSEC.

Additional Information: The role requires hybrid working between MOD Abbey Wood and home, with travel to Glasgow/Clyde approximately twice per month. Candidates must hold current SC Clearance for the resource to be considered for submission. DV is desirable.
