The candidate will have a good understanding of power engineering, providing safety from the system, good knowledge of all types of HV switchgear, testing and commissioning, a background as a senior authorised person is essential. In addition, a good understanding of project management including costing, planning, delivery, profit and loss control will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage High Voltage projects end–to–end, including P&L, budgeting, and commercial oversight.
- Provide safety from the system and oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of HV switchgear, cables, and transformers.
- Lead testing and commissioning of HV installations and protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with HV/LV Safety Rules and all company policies.
- Drive efficiency, cost control, and profitability while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
Essential:
- HV Senior Authorisation status (e.g., DNO or equivalent) and HV Private Networks experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an electrical contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical engineering, switchgear, and protection systems.
- Ability to work under pressure with a controlled, safety–first approach.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Distribution) preferred.
