We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Fabricator Welder Apprentice to join TS Metals, a specialist fabrication division of Quartzelec. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while completing a structured apprenticeship programme, developing the core skills and technical knowledge required for a successful career in welding and fabrication. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will support the delivery of high‑quality engineering solutions, from finished metal products to complex turnkey projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply practical welding and fabrication techniques, including MIG, TIG and ARC welding
- Fabricate a range of sheet metal components using appropriate tools and methods
- Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into accurate fabricated components
- Use measuring equipment effectively to ensure precision and adherence to specifications
- Apply theoretical knowledge gained through your apprenticeship to practical tasks
- Work safely and maintain high standards of quality in all work carried out
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to workshop activities
As part of this role, you will undertake a structured training programme including:
- Level 2 Technical Certificate in Fabrication & Welding
- Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (Workshop – 3 units)
- Gateway Assessment and End Point Assessment
- Day‑release attendance at WCG over a 24‑month period
- Level 3 upon successful completion
GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A–C / 4–9 including:
- Genuine interest in fabrication and welding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Ability to interpret technical information
