We are seeking an experienced Electro‑Mechanical Fitter – Team Leader, ideally with strong rotating machines experience, to join our Workshop team at our Rugby site. This role combines hands‑on electro‑mechanical fitting with team leadership responsibilities, supporting the delivery of high‑quality repairs within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting, disassembling and reassembling rotating machines, including AC and DC motors and generators
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and schematic drawings
- Assessing machine condition, wear and damage and carrying out basic electrical testing
- Preparing components and assembling machines to QA standards, ready for test running
- Completing work to a high standard, achieving first‑time fix where possible
Leadership and Coordination Responsibilities
- Leading by example with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Quality and housekeeping
- Completing monthly H&S walkarounds and attending H&S meetings
- Ensuring parts are correctly labelled, stored and handled safely
- Ensuring work instructions are followed and completed accurately
- Liaising with Quality and Inspection teams to ensure records meet required standards
Qualifications
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G, NVQ or equivalent)
- Experience in an electro‑mechanical environment
- Knowledge of medium and large rotating machines, including high‑voltage equipment
- Experience with AC and DC motors and generators
- The ability to travel for short durations in the UK and overseas
