We are seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Finance Officer to support the financial health and governance of the business across projects and operations. Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, and providing meaningful financial insight to support decision‑making. This role also includes line management responsibility for the Finance Administrator, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills within a collaborative, project‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records across projects and business operations
- Support month‑end processes, audits and compliance with financial policies and accounting standards
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, debtors and support debt management activities
- Support project managers with cost‑to‑complete, WIP, margin tracking and financial insight
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance reporting
Experience
- Experience in a finance, accounts or finance operations role
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
- High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Experience in a project‑based, engineering or technical environment
- Familiarity with purchase order systems and job costing
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting or management accounts
- Previous experience managing or supervising staff
