We are looking for a motivated and diligent Quality Inspector Apprentice to join our team and help ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards. This apprenticeship will provide valuable hands-on experience in quality control, inspection processes, and quality management systems (QMS). Under the guidance of our Quality team, you will learn how to perform inspections, measure materials and products, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the company.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Assist in Quality Inspections: Learn and support in inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct Goods Receipt Inspections: Assist in carrying out checks and inspections for received materials and components.
- Document Inspection Results: Record and maintain accurate inspection records, including measurements, test results, and observations.
- Identify Quality Issues: Assist in identifying quality issues during production, conduct investigations, and report findings to the team.
- Support Quality Audits: Help with internal and external quality audits to ensure that processes align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
This is a 4-year apprenticeship that leads to a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering. The apprenticeship offers a comprehensive blend of hands-on learning, academic study, and industry experience, providing the perfect foundation for a successful career in the rotating machines engineering sector.
Year 1: Full-Time Training at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS): During the first year, you will attend MGTS in Coventry on a full-time basis. This year will focus on building a strong foundation, learning both practical and theoretical aspects of the role. You will gain core skills essential for your apprenticeship, including engineering principles and hands-on techniques.
Years 2β4: Day Release at MGTS: From year 2 onwards, you will attend MGTS on a day-release basis, continuing to develop your knowledge and skills. Youβll complete the educational components required for the program while gaining valuable on-the-job experience with Quartzelec.
HNC & HND Opportunity: From year 3, you may have the opportunity to be supported in studying for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering enhancing your qualifications and furthering your career prospects.
Candidate Requirements: We are looking for motivated and ambitious individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Academic Requirements: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), with grades A*-C / 9-5 in Maths and A*-C / 9-4 in English, Science, and two other subjects.
- Passion for Engineering: A genuine interest in the engineering field, particularly in the rotating machinery and manufacturing sector.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to develop both practical and academic skills and contribute to the success of the team.
The following qualifications are attained through this apprenticeship:
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technologies.
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
- EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
