We are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer within our Rugby Operation to oversee and carry out daily quality tasks, ensuring that the company’s quality processes are followed. You will facilitate 8D problem‑solving activities for both supplier and internal complaints, from initial containment through to verified corrective actions. Success in this role will be achieved by building strong working relationships across the business, communicating with managers and staff to ensure that our QMS is functioning correctly and compliance is maintained. You will play a key role in reducing defects, advising on changes, and providing training to support our quality standards.
- Lead the closure of non‑conformances through effective root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions
- Prepare quality reports, documentation and corrective action records
- Support APQP, FMEA and development of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to embed quality throughout the manufacturing process
- Investigate quality issues, produce RCA reports and support operational improvement actions
- Carry out supplier site visits and audits for machining, fabrication, plating, stamping and laser‑cutting processes
- Promote a positive quality culture and continuous improvement across the business
- Identify training needs related to quality and support capability development
- Maintain document control and procedural compliance
Competent use of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems. Background in electrical or mechanical engineering. Experience within a production environment, including inspection work and use of mechanical measuring equipment. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T. Proven ability to lead quality activities and resolve non‑conformances using RCA tools such as 8D, A3, Ishikawa and 5 Whys. Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality auditing techniques. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems. Meet targets in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. Flexibility to work extended hours when required and willingness to undertake relevant training. Experience with rotating machines and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (desirable).
