Field Service Engineer in Devon, Cornwall or Somerset | £28,000 to £35,000 | Full-time, part-time or 4-day week.
Can you find a fault, fix it properly, and leave a customer glad they called? That's the job. The rest can be trained.
I'm recruiting a Field Service Engineer for a well-established, independent office technology business with a loyal and growing customer base across the South West. They service photocopiers and multifunction devices (MFDs), promote from within, invest heavily in training, and look after their people.
You don't have to be a photocopier engineer already. If you're an experienced MFD engineer, brilliant. But if you come from a related field and you're ready to cross-train, I want to hear from you too. That includes:
- Electrical or electro-mechanical engineers
- Qualified electricians
- ATM, vending, EPOS or appliance engineers
- Ex-Forces technicians
The fault-finding skills transfer. Full manufacturer-accredited training covers the rest.
What the role involves:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing multifunction devices on customer sites
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and network faults
- Using remote diagnostic tools before you even arrive
- Building relationships customers trust
- Working independently, with a strong technical team behind you
What you'll need:
- Electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
- Solid IT and networking knowledge
- A logical, methodical approach
- Full UK driving licence and able to pass a DBS check
- Living in Devon, Cornwall or Somerset
What you'll get:
- ~£28,000 to £35,000, depending on experience
- ~ Company vehicle, or your own with business mileage paid
- ~ Flexible working: full-time, part-time or a 4-day week
- ~ Full manufacturer training and advanced certifications
- ~ Phone, laptop and the latest diagnostic software
- ~ Real progression: Senior Engineer, technical mentoring, or Service Management
