A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join our brigade at the Square. The successful candidate will take a senior role in producing exquisite, seasonal, modern British / European cuisine as part of a friendly, supportive team of six chefs and three kitchen porters. Working with the finest locally sourced fresh ingredients, our new Sous Chef can expect to work to our seasonal à la carte menu, private dining events, weddings, member functions and much more!
Part of Quarter, the Square is one of the most exciting and stylish venues in Bristol, combining an award-winning restaurant, exclusive private members club and lively bar. The Square is also one of the most sought after event spaces in the city, playing host to a variety of public events, as well as private weddings and other celebrations.
Key details of the Sous Chef position:
Hours: Full time, usually worked over 5 shifts per week on a rota basis
Salary: Package of £34,200, comprising £32,000 basic salary plus an estimated £2,200 per annum in service charge (paid monthly)

Who are we looking for in a Sous Chef?
The ideal candidate will have a real flair for cooking, a sense of fun, excellent leadership skills, a winning personality and a strong work ethic. As Sous Chef you will be the right-hand person to our Head Chef, responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen in their absence. You will be involved in menu development by giving menu input on a regular basis, including special event menus. Some experience in fine dining and working with fresh ingredients is essential.
This would be a great opportunity for an existing Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef who is looking to build upon previous experience and knowledge in a thriving and successful restaurant. You will be joining a passionate and highly skilled team who work hard to produce the Square\’s exquisite and ever-changing menu but have fun while doing so!
