Town Planner in Downpatrick

Due to continued success and growth, we are looking to recruit a Town Planner who will assist the Senior Team in delivering client projects. Location: Based in Crossgar, Co. Down, the work will be mainly office-based but will also involve visiting various site/project locations and therefore a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel is essential throughout the UK, Ireland and further afield, when required. Role: A Town Planner on a full time, permanent basis, interested in the full range of environmental topics. The successful candidate will be joining a team, providing planning advice with the guidance of the senior staff and commitment to the continued professional and personal development, with a view of obtaining chartership and career progression. The role will include: Preparation and submission of Planning Applications; Coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments; Preparation of Written and Technical Reports and associated mapping; Management of subcontractors; Assisting clients with condition compliance; Project budgeting within allocated costs; Review and comment on technical reports; Managing client relationships, providing regular project updates. Requirements: You will be required to be educated to degree level or hold a relevant planning or equivalent qualification and a knowledge of town planning legislation, policies, and procedures. The candidate will ideally be recently qualified, or working towards a full member of the RTPI (or equivalent body). A minimum of two years relevant post qualification experience through industry, consultancy or the public sector is preferred. This role requires confident written and verbal communication to deliver planning advice. The candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication and problem solving skills, proven experience and the ability to manage a range of projects adhering to deadlines, and delivering high-quality results. Salary & Benefits: £30,000 - £35,000 will be offered commensurate with the candidates experience, qualifications and chartership status.
