The predicted salary is between 950 - 1418 £ per month.

QMS are OEM manufacturers of Cone Crushers, suppliers of spare and wear parts for the worldwide quarrying industry, and maintenance experts for crushing plant throughout the UK. We are one of the world's leading manufacturers of manganese wear parts and internal high quality crusher spares. We are experts in the repair and maintenance of all makes of crushing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Post-apprenticeship to obtain coded status, taking on more complex projects and troubleshooting difficult welds.
  • Ensuring quality control and enforcing safety standards.
  • Read and understand and follow engineering drawings.
  • Work to engineering tolerances.
  • Use the most suitable welding method for the job in hand.
  • Use various hand and power tools (grinders, cutting torches, hand files, hammer).
  • Inspect and test cuts and joins, through the use of a variety of measuring equipment, micrometers etc.
  • In addition to learning the skills of a welder fabricator you may also be cross trained in the use of a Plasma Machine.

Training and placement structure

The programme is delivered on a block-release whereby learners attend Stephenson college for one full week at a time, followed by 4 to 6 weeks working with their employer.

Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm. Daily breaks: 30 minute unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15 minute paid tea breaks.
