Your new Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, compassionate people to join our Dumfries & Galloway Family Support Service as a Family Support Worker. As part of our team, you’ll work alongside children, young people, and their families to offer emotional, practical, and holistic support. No two days are the same — one day you might be helping a young person build confidence through activities, the next developing outcome plans to ensure every young person thrives. What is consistent is that everything you do will have a positive impact on someone’s life.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Building trusting relationships with children, young people, and families
- Providing emotional and practical support based on their needs
- Helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and life skills
- Working alongside a warm, supportive team who are always ready to help
- Making meaningful, lasting change to the people we support
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to have all the answers — what matters most is your attitude. If you’re:
- Caring, patient, and a great listener
- Passionate about supporting the people we support and families
- Able to work flexibly and creatively
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
Experience in family support, social care, or community work is helpful — but just as valuable are empathy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help others grow.
