As a Senior Quantitative Researcher, you will lead the creation, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of advanced machine learning (ML) models, which are essential for evaluating investment prospects and forecasting their performance. You will delve into an extensive database comprising over 500 tested and analysed features, refining and expanding this set to enhance predictive accuracy, as well as generate new hypotheses that could serve as indicators of startup success. Ultimately, your expertise will be instrumental in formulating and executing strategies aimed at identifying startups with the potential to outperform market benchmarks, thereby driving our investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities Would Include:
- Alpha Generation. Own the entire pipeline: from generating an idea and assessing its viability, to code implementation and deployment.
- Investment portfolio research and optimisation.
- Model enhancement and in-depth feature analysis.
- Continuously create new features for startup success prediction and analyse the impact of each feature on the model.
- Research reporting.
- Investment data collection and organisation.
- Data Quality Control.
- Exploration of new and alternative data sources.
- Collaboration with the Data Science and Data Engineering teams.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quantitative Research role.
- A STEM degree, preferably in Mathematics or Physics.
- Proficiency in Machine Learning, Python programming, and a strong foundation in statistics.
- Familiarity with Spark feature construction pipelines.
- Knowledge of commonly used investment research sources, such as financial news websites, industry reports, and basic financial statements.
