Who You\’ll Work With

Driving lasting impact and building long‑term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high‑performance/high‑reward culture — doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.

In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we\’ll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues — at all levels — will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you\’ll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.

When you join us, you will have:

  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast‑paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You’ll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm’s diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World‑class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well‑being for you and your family.

Your Impact

You will be part of QuantumBlack Labs and work in a team of software engineers, product managers, data scientists, data engineers and designers to create innovative products and new technologies that accelerate and scale our work in artificial intelligence and machine learning. We hire engineers into multiple product teams (e.g. agentic AI systems, digital twins, advanced analytics platforms). Team placement depends on your skills and interest.

Our teams are responsible for designing products that explain complex data landscapes and insights to our users, building frameworks and libraries that enable Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Machine Learning Engineers to work effectively on large‑scale, complex projects—including open‑sourcing some of these frameworks, such as Kedro and ARK—and developing innovative, industry‑specific AI/ML solutions that embed our distinctive technical approach and business knowledge for enterprise clients.

As a Product Manager, you will own strategy, execution and delivery of one (or more) products under QuantumBlack’s portfolio. This includes working with your leaders to shape strategy, define the roadmap and set clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with user needs and business outcomes. You will lead on user discovery (conducing research with the user community, mapping user journeys, and writing user stories), while driving delivery through agile leadership and ways of working (running workshops, coaching teams, establishing effective team norms).

You will manage and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring requirements are well defined and understood by the development team. You will own cross‑team dependency management and lead release planning, making trade‑off decisions based on feasibility, desirability and viability to deliver impactful, user‑centred solutions.

Collaborating closely with the Solution Leader and the delivery team, you will leverage data and analytics to track and report key metrics for product adoption, quality and overall performance. You will support go‑to‑market execution by partnering on product rollout, adoption initiatives, enablement materials, and lead stakeholder communication, clearly communicating product value, benefits and outcomes to drive engagement across teams and stakeholders.

You will be based in our London or Madrid office, and you will play a critical role in solving real problems for clients and colleagues, by delivering innovative products that address complex challenges and create meaningful impact — leading strategy and delivery efforts to drive measurable outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. You will join a team that fosters innovation through analytics, design thinking and emerging technologies — helping to shift McKinsey’s model toward asset‑based consulting.

This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your expertise in product management and technology. You will join a diverse and inclusive community dedicated to mentorship, feedback and professional development. With access to McKinsey’s global network of experts and technologists, you will refine your skills, expand your leadership capabilities and make a lasting impact on the future of product innovation.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Post Graduate Degree in Business or equivalent experience. Prior familiarity with data science and/or data engineering is a plus.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience that demonstrates end‑to‑end complex problem solving from ideation to post‑launch through Product/Technology development.
  • Experience in running complex problems and user discovery, competitive analysis and shaping a product’s value proposition.
  • Skills in prioritisation frameworks and product performance measurement.
  • Ability to partner with engineering to shape functional requirements, address technical debt and ensure readiness for release.
  • Experience coordinating multi‑squad execution or dependency management.
  • Experience supporting go‑to‑market activities (e.g. adoption tracking, stakeholder communications, C‑level materials).
  • Awareness of emerging technologies (e.g. GenAI, LLM ecosystem tools, cloud native development, modern data and engineering architectures).
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical engineering best practices – DevSecOps, non‑functional/security/compliance requirements, testing practices, continuous integration.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management and creating storylines for presentations.
  • Exceptional time management to meet responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s).
