Knight R&D is looking for an R&D Tax Consultant, who can bring either up-to-date knowledge of R&D tax legislation and DSIT Guidelines, or relevant industry experience in Science, Technology and Engineering sectors. The successful candidate will be joining an ambitious, highly motivated, and collaborative team of R&D Tax Incentive professionals, with diverse experience in corporation tax and the Software, IT, Science and Engineering fields.
The candidates must either have experience compiling and delivering claims or have industry experience with transferable skills to an R&D tax consultant role.
Key Aspects Of The Job Include:- Assistance in planning R&D claim processes and methodologies.
- Work effectively as a member of a delivery team, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members of diverse skill sets.
- Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and a keen desire to adapt and apply existing knowledge to different sectors and build on core capabilities.
- Support in client workshops including technical specialists and financial teams to efficiently extract relevant information to support the R&D claim compilation.
- Assist in the delivery of a portfolio of R&D tax clients and help build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Compile R&D claim documentation from start to end, covering both the costing and technical aspects for submission to HMRC.
- Assist to compile enquiry responses as required.
- Either previous R&D tax relief experience (ideally 1‑2 years’ experience in this field) or relevant industry experience in a scientific or engineering field.
- Degree educated, ideally with an IT, Science or Engineering field.
- Excellent at understanding and communicating technical and commercial concepts both verbally and in writing quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver several live projects simultaneously.
- Self‑motivated and willing to learn independently, driven to continuously develop your own knowledge, network and skillset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Basic salary £30K – £50K (starting salary is dependent on location, experience, qualifications and transferable skills) + bonuses.
- Hybrid working, 2 days per week based in London or Liverpool office.
