Quantum Scholars is recruiting SEND Learning Support Assistants to support students accessing a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) and wider alternative provision services across Wokingham. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will support students from a range of backgrounds who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education. Some students will be based within a PRU setting, while others will require one-to-one tuition and support at home as they prepare to transition back into education.
The Role
This position combines learning support, mentoring and one-to-one tuition, allowing you to build positive relationships with students and help them achieve successful outcomes. Students may present with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Behavioural challenges
- Trauma-related difficulties
- Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
- Medical needs
- Additional learning needs
This role is particularly well suited to LSAs and TAs who enjoy working closely with students and would like a more varied role than a traditional classroom-based position. Opportunities are available from part-time hours through to full-time timetables.
