The Role Our Rewards Tech team is growing! We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team in Maidstone. In this role you will own the frontend across our Cashback and Custard apps and websites, shipping new functionality that moves revenue, hardening our release pipeline with automated testing, and raising the bar on how our reward products look and feel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the frontend across the Cashback and Custard apps and websites, from build through to release
  • Ship new app functionality that moves revenue and retention, working closely with product and backend
  • Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests so staging is stable and releases are predictable
  • Raise the standard of web and app UX across both reward brands
  • Work full stack where it counts, partnering with our backend developers on the Python services behind the apps

About You

  • A strong senior frontend engineer, production-grade with React and TypeScript on the web
  • Hands-on building and shipping mobile apps, ideally React Native across iOS and Android
  • A sharp eye for UX and design: you care how a product feels, not just whether it works
  • Comfortable owning end-to-end and staging test automation as part of how you ship

  • Last but not least, you’ll have no ego!

How to prepare for a job interview at Quantum

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Quantum uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
