The Role: Our Data and Machine Learning team is growing! We’re looking for a Head of Data Engineering and Machine Learning to join our team in London. In this role, you will lead the data and ML teams that power the Quantum Platform, own the technical strategy and delivery roadmap for our data infrastructure and model estate, and turn business ambition into intelligence that scales.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing data engineering and ML team, recruiting and retaining engineers who take pride in what they ship and how it performs.
- Set and own the data engineering and ML technical strategy, so our data infrastructure and model estate scale with the business.
- Lead the delivery roadmap, meeting business objectives and making well-reasoned trade-offs where they are needed.
- Partner with product, marketing, commercial and executive leadership to shape data and ML priorities that move business performance.
- Set the technical bar and drive adoption of AI-led development across the function, staying close to the code where it counts.
About You: Proven experience leading and developing data engineering or ML teams, setting direction and building capability. A track record of delivering data and ML platforms that drove real customer and business results. Hands-on technical credibility: you enjoy getting into the detail to help your team land the right solution. Able to translate technical complexity into clear, business-relevant narratives for stakeholders at every level. Strong commercial acumen, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders on revenue, growth and competitive advantage. You thrive when working as part of a team. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Have excellent written and verbal English skills. Last but not least, you’ll have no ego!
