Role Purpose

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the effective management of contracts across offshore wind projects, from procurement through execution and close-out. The role ensures contractual risk is managed, commercial value is protected, and contractual obligations are met in line with project, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts (e.g. EPC, EPCI, T&I, O&M, vessel charters, OEM supply agreements).
  • Manage contracts throughout the full project lifecycle, from tendering and award through execution, variation management, and final account settlement.
  • Ensure contractual compliance by all parties and proactively manage risks and opportunities.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks specific to offshore wind projects.
  • Manage change control, variations, and claims in line with contractual mechanisms.
  • Support dispute avoidance and, where required, manage claims, negotiations, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Stakeholder & Project Support
    • Act as the key contractual interface between internal teams (project management, procurement, legal, finance, engineering) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, JV partners).
    • Provide contractual advice to the project team to support decision-making.
    • Support procurement strategies and tender evaluations from a contractual and commercial perspective.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure contracts comply with company policies, applicable laws, and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, and reporting.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management processes and lessons learned.

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Contracts Engineer) within offshore wind, offshore construction, or the wider energy/marine sector.
    • Strong knowledge of offshore contracting models and standard forms (e.g. FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO).
    • Experience managing high-value, complex contracts in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
    • Solid understanding of commercial principles, risk allocation, and claims management.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Degree in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
    • Professional accreditation (e.g. IACCM / WorldCC, RICS, or equivalent).
    • Experience working on international offshore wind projects.
    • Familiarity with vessel chartering and marine operations contracts.
    • Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
    • Proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
    • Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities under pressure.
    • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
