We are recruiting qualified teachers and experienced tutors to support pupils across Wokingham through one-to-one and small group tuition. This work is focused on young people who are currently out of mainstream education or require additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs. Delivery may take place in person, online, or through a hybrid model, depending on each individual placement.
There is a consistent flow of referrals from local authorities and schools, offering regular opportunities for tutors seeking flexible work. You will work directly with pupils on a personalised basis, delivering targeted support across core subjects (English, Maths, Science). Students range from KS1 through to KS5, depending on your experience.
Sessions may be delivered in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, community locations, or online. Many placements provide regular weekly work, with some offering up to 5 days per week (approximately 3 hours per day), often continuing through to the end of the academic year.
The pupils you work with may have a range of needs, including:
- SEMH, anxiety, or school disengagement
- Autism (ASC), ADHD
Success in this role requires a patient, adaptable and relationship-focused approach, with an understanding of how to engage learners who may have had disrupted education.
Requirements:
- QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to travel locally within Wokingham
