We are seeking dedicated one-to-one Humanities tutors, ideally qualified teachers, to provide off-site educational support to students in and around Wokingham who are currently out of mainstream education. While the primary focus is on KS3 and KS4 Humanities, tutors should be willing to work with primary-aged pupils where required, depending on placement needs. This role is particularly well suited to teachers looking to step away from the pressures of mainstream classrooms and move into part-time, flexible work, while continuing to make a meaningful impact through focused, individual support.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Student Profile & Focus

Students may present with SEMH needs, anxiety, school refusal, or previous exclusion, and require a calm, consistent, relationship-led approach. Tuition may include:

  • KS3 and KS4 History, Geography, or Religious Studies
  • GCSE preparation where appropriate
  • Developing subject knowledge, analytical skills, and written responses
  • Supporting re-engagement with learning and exam confidence
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status preferred (Humanities specialism desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • Willingness to support primary-aged pupils where required
  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Experience with SEMH or alternative provision highly desirable
Pay
