About the Role
Quantum Scholars are seeking a qualified and experienced Science Teacher to provide 1:1 Science tuition to a young individual accessing EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) provision in Wokingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support in a home-based setting, helping the young person to engage with their education and make meaningful academic progress. The tuition will be delivered for 4.5 hours per week, with days and times being completely flexible during the week, allowing the successful tutor to work around their existing commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 Science tuition tailored to the young person’s individual needs.
- Plan and prepare appropriate Science lessons and learning activities.
- Adapt teaching approaches to maintain engagement and support the pupil’s learning needs.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the young person.
- Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Maintain clear records of sessions and pupil progress.
- Liaise with relevant professionals, parents/carers and the Quantum Scholars team where appropriate.
- Create a calm, supportive and positive learning environment within the home.
