We are seeking qualified teachers and experienced tutors to provide 1-to-1 and small group tuition to pupils in and around Uxbridge and the wider Hillingdon area. This work involves supporting young people who are not currently accessing mainstream education or who require additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs. Tuition may be delivered in person, online, or via a hybrid model, depending on the needs of each learner.
There are multiple roles available, with regular referrals from local authorities and schools across the borough. You must have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity for educators who want to step away from traditional classroom teaching and work more closely with individual students.
Role Overview- Deliver tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) in line with your experience
- Support learners from KS1 to KS5
- Work with pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
- Sessions may take place in homes, schools, community settings, or online
- Flexible working options, from part-time to near full-time
- Many referrals offer up to 5 days per week (approx. 3 hours per day), often continuing through to the end of the academic year
Pupils may present with:
- SEMH needs, anxiety, or school avoidance
- Autism (ASC), ADHD
- MLD, SLD, or PMLD
A calm, patient and adaptable approach is essential.
Requirements- QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience
- Experience supporting SEND or alternative provision learners
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Ability to travel locally within Uxbridge / Hillingdon
- Flexible working to suit your availability
