1:1 SEND Tutor - Kington & Surrounding Areas Alternative Provision & EOTAS Location: Kington and surrounding areas Job Type: Part-Time, Flexible Start Date: September Delivery: Face-to-face, 1:1 tuition Quantum Scholars is proud to be an approved provider on Herefordshire Council's Alternative Provision Framework, working closely with the local authority to support children and young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education. We are currently looking for experienced and compassionate SEND Tutors in Kington and the surrounding areas to provide personalised, one-to-one tuition to pupils accessing Alternative Provision or EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School). This is a face-to-face role, with tuition delivered in pupils' homes or suitable community settings such as libraries. This is not an online tutoring position. We are receiving regular referrals from Herefordshire Council and are looking to build a team of dedicated tutors who can provide consistent, engaging and individualised educational support to pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs. The Role As a 1:1 SEND Tutor, you will work closely with individual pupils to help them re-engage with education, build confidence and make meaningful academic progress. Tuition will be tailored to each pupil's individual needs and may include English, Maths, Science, Functional Skills and other curriculum areas, depending on the pupil's requirements. You will be responsible for: Delivering engaging 1:1 tuition to pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs. Planning and adapting lessons around each pupil's individual abilities, needs and learning outcomes. Supporting pupils to develop their academic skills, confidence and engagement with education. Teaching subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Functional Skills and other curriculum areas where appropriate. Delivering tuition in pupils' homes or suitable community venues. Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils. Creating a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records of sessions. Liaising with parents, carers, schools, local authority professionals and other relevant agencies where required. Supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to accessing mainstream education. Essential Requirements We are looking for tutors who have: Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs. Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition, teaching or educational support. The ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning. A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach. Confidence working independently with pupils in their homes or community settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to education. QTS is desirable but not essential. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. Satisfactory professional references. The right to work in the UK. Why Join Quantum Scholars?
