Quantum Scholars is currently acting as an agency on behalf of a genuinely welcoming and highly regarded secondary school in High Wycombe that is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Religious Studies on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational educator to lead a successful and well-established Religious Studies department within a supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Religious Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3-5
- Develop and implement an ambitious and inclusive curriculum
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement
- Support, challenge, and develop colleagues through effective line management
- Foster a positive and collaborative departmental culture
- Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and enrichment opportunities
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic success
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level, including A-Level
- Previous middle leadership or departmental leadership experience is desirable
- Strong track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
- Ability to support and motivate colleagues through effective leadership
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about Religious Studies and committed to inspiring students
- MUST have the Right to Work in the UK
- MUST be currently UK-based
