We are looking for dedicated and passionate SEN Teachers and Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 and small-group tuition to young students across the Hereford area. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may be out of mainstream education, awaiting school placements, or requiring additional academic and emotional support due to SEND or SEMH needs. Tuition will be delivered face-to-face.

Due to a growing number of referrals from schools and local authorities, we have several flexible opportunities available for professionals seeking meaningful and impactful work.

The Role
  • Deliver tailored tuition in English, Maths and/or Science
  • Support students across Key Stages 1-5, depending on your subject expertise and experience
  • Adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Deliver sessions in a variety of settings, including students' homes, schools, community venues, or online
  • Choose from flexible part-time assignments through to near full-time opportunities
  • Starting from September 2026 with ongoing referrals
Student Profiles

You may work with learners who have:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance, or school refusal
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD
  • Moderate, Severe or Profound Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD, PMLD)

A patient, adaptable and trauma-informed approach is essential to success in this role.

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or significant tutoring experience
  • Previous experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, or within alternative provision settings
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two professional references
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to student welfare
  • Ability to travel within the local area
