Quantum Scholars are looking for experienced and committed Alternative Provision Tutors to work with secondary-aged students in Hereford. This role will involve providing 1:1 tuition in students' homes and community settings, supporting young people who require additional help outside of their usual classroom learning. Students may need support with academic progress, confidence, engagement, or preparation for exams.

The role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged students
  • Planning and delivering engaging, personalised sessions
  • Supporting students with Maths, English and/or other subject areas
  • Helping learners build confidence, motivation and positive learning habits
  • Adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs
  • Working closely with Quantum Scholars and relevant professionals to support each student's progress
  • Supporting students who may have barriers to learning or need a more personalised approach

We are looking for tutors who:

  • Have experience teaching, tutoring or supporting secondary-aged students
  • Can deliver strong subject knowledge, particularly in Maths and/or English
  • Are patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with young people
  • Can provide engaging, structured and supportive tuition
  • Are able to adapt sessions to suit individual learning needs and abilities
  • Have experience working with students who may need additional academic or pastoral support
  • Are comfortable working in homes and community-based environments

Experience in Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH support, behaviour support, mentoring, or re-engagement work would be highly desirable.
