Quantum Scholars is looking for a compassionate and experienced Learning Mentor to provide one-to-one support for two secondary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This rewarding role involves supporting each pupil individually, helping them to develop essential life skills and improve their literacy. As part of the role, you will support the pupils with practical activities such as using public transport, visiting local shops, and building their confidence and independence in everyday situations.
The Role
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to two secondary-aged pupils with SEND.
- Deliver engaging literacy support suited to each pupil’s individual needs.
- Help pupils develop key life skills, confidence, and independence through community-based learning.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage progress and personal development.
- These sessions will be from Monday - Friday during school hours only!
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs is essential.
- Experience supporting or tutoring secondary-aged pupils.
- A patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel within the Wokingham area is highly advantageous.
