EOTAS Tutor - Minehead

Quantum Scholars are looking for a patient, supportive and experienced EOTAS Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one educational support to a young person in Minehead.
The successful tutor will have experience supporting secondary-aged learners who are accessing Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) provision and may have SEND and/or SEMH needs. You will be confident adapting your teaching style, pace and resources to meet individual learning needs, while creating a calm, structured and positive environment where the learner can build confidence and re-engage with education.
Experience supporting young people with anxiety, school avoidance, disengagement, emotionally based school non-attendance or challenging behaviour would be highly desirable.
This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.
The role may involve:
Providing personalised one-to-one tuition to a secondary-aged learner accessing EOTAS provision.
Supporting the learner with their academic and educational development across relevant subjects.
Identifying gaps in knowledge and providing targeted support.
Adapting teaching methods, resources and lesson pace to suit individual learning needs.
Breaking down complex concepts into manageable and accessible steps.
Supporting literacy, numeracy, study skills and independent learning where appropriate.
Supporting GCSE preparation and examination skills where relevant.
Helping the learner develop positive attitudes towards education and learning.
Creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
Supporting a learner who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education.
Helping the learner develop confidence, resilience and independence.
Encouraging engagement and gradually building positive learning routines.
Using the learner's interests, strengths and preferred learning styles to make sessions engaging and accessible.
