We are seeking a professional, proactive, and ambitious Construction Contract Manager to support our team in upcoming and ongoing projects around the United Kingdom and abroad, based in Central London. The Opportunity
You will have a versatile workday and your contributions will play a key role in the projects. You will be part of a team with international experience and will be helping to run civil construction projects. Most of your days will be based in our central London office, but there is also the requirement for short-term travel to projects if necessary (including in Denmark).
Your main role will be to:
- Collaborate with the project team during the construction phase advising on contractual and commercial issues and identification of key risks.
- Handle Contract Administration and management across multiple ongoing projects, reviewing Employer Instructions, Managing Early Warnings, issuing Notices, among other requirements to be handled within the contracts.
- Draft, review, and recommend revisions to required contractual documentation in collaboration with others.
- Assist in preparing subcontracts and design consultancy agreements in line with pre-agreed standard forms, ensuring necessary requirements from main contracts are incorporated.
- Prepare project variations and participate in project negotiations with project manager and production team.
- Monitor overall project progress and contract strategy in collaboration with the project manager.
- Review contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance with the prescribed procurement requirements.
Your Profile:
You have experience in managing design and build construction contracts; desirably FIDIC Yellow Book. It would also be valuable for you to have a proficient understanding and experience with Civil Works (Concrete, Utilities, Earthworks) and/or Building Structure (Steel, Facade, Roof). Furthermore, it is important you have:
- Relevant Construction Management degree / Quantity Surveying degree, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing high value/risk construction projects.
- Ability to organise your workload across several projects.
- The ability and experience in anticipating and managing contractual and commercial risks to maximise/minimise impacts to a project.
We are committed to supporting all eligible employees in achieving membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Preferably, you have an exam or accredited courses from the RICS, or have ambitions to achieve this qualification.
You must be prepared to work with international clients, contractors, and suppliers. This means that it would be beneficial if you have some degree of experience working in international environments.
