The Head of Global Development is a senior commercial leadership role for an experienced international pharmaceutical professional who can bring established market knowledge, customer relationships and competitor insight to accelerate growth across a defined geographical region. The role owns regional growth delivery, key account expansion, strategic customer development, commercial governance and day‑to‑day leadership of the regional business unit. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a regional business unit to deliver ambitious revenue, margin, customer growth and market expansion targets across international healthcare markets.
- Leverage existing sector knowledge, market relationships and competitor insight to identify new opportunities, secure new customers and strengthen Target International’s position in priority regions.
- Build trusted, long‑term customer and supplier relationships, using your credibility and market understanding to maximise account performance, retention and commercial value.
- Develop and execute regional commercial strategies that support Target Healthcare's wider global growth objectives.
- Bring commercial insight, live market intelligence and competitor awareness into strategic decision‑making and regional performance planning.
- Represent Target Healthcare at customer meetings, industry events and international conferences, strengthening our global presence and reputation.
- Lead, coach and develop a commercially focused team, embedding accountability, performance discipline, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to deliver commercial objectives and support business growth.
- Ensure all activity is delivered in line with regulatory requirements, company policies, quality standards and commercial governance expectations.
- Contribute to shaping the future direction of Target Healthcare's international commercial strategy.
Skills & Attributes Required
- Proven experience buying and selling pharmaceutical products, OTC medicines or unlicensed medicines across international markets, ideally gained within a comparable pharmaceutical trading, distribution or supply business.
- An established network of relevant customer, supplier or market relationships, with the ability to open doors, build credibility quickly and convert relationships into sustainable commercial outcomes.
- Experience leading a team, or strong evidence of readiness to step into people management within a commercial environment.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver revenue and margin growth, supported by strong commercial judgement and data‑led decision‑making.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust with senior customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong technical, market and competitor knowledge with the ability to anticipate customer requirements and develop commercially compelling solutions.
- Ability to analyse commercial performance, market data and operational processes to identify risks, trends, opportunities and practical solutions.
- Customer‑focused, service‑led approach with the judgement to balance commercial ambition, quality standards and team support.
- Experience using stock management software is desirable.
- Experience working in a regulated environment is desirable.
