1. Hands-on UK Payroll Experience – ESSENTIAL Candidates should have solid, practical experience managing/processing UK payroll, not simply providing payroll administration support. 2. End-to-End Payroll Processing – ESSENTIAL Look for candidates who have handled the full monthly payroll cycle, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, benefits and other payroll amendments, through to payroll completion. 3. ADP Payroll Experience – STRONGLY PREFERRED The Bank currently processes payroll through ADP ihcm. Candidates with hands-on ADP experience should therefore be prioritised. The role involves checking monthly HR changes in ADP and committing payroll. 4. UK Statutory Payroll Knowledge – ESSENTIAL Candidates should demonstrate practical knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, P11Ds, P60s, PSA and statutory year-end payroll activities. 5. Payroll Reconciliation & Accounting Knowledge – ESSENTIAL Look for experience with payroll reconciliation, GL postings and identifying/correcting payroll accounting discrepancies. Basic accounting knowledge is specifically required by the JD. 6. Pensions & Third-Party Payments Candidate should ideally have experience preparing/submitting pension contribution schedules and dealing with payroll-related payments to external providers/HMRC. 7. Outsourced Payroll Provider Management Experience working with an external/outsourced payroll provider is important. The successful candidate will work closely with the provider to ensure payroll accuracy and timely service delivery. 8. Employee Payroll Queries & Stakeholder Management Candidate must be comfortable acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for salary, payroll, tax and payroll-related employee queries and working with HR, Finance/Accounts, Operations and external providers. 9. Strong Excel, Numeracy & Attention to Detail Strong Microsoft Excel capability, excellent numerical ability and very high attention to detail are important. Payroll accuracy and the ability to meet strict monthly deadlines should be clearly evidenced on the CV. 10. Local + Expat Payroll Experience – HIGHLY RELEVANT The position supports payroll for both UK local and expatriate employees, including expat tax-return information, PSA/P11D data, PAYE/NI and HMRC-related administration. Candidates with expatriate/international payroll exposure would therefore be particularly relevant. ADP experience and exposure to expatriate payroll would be particularly advantageous
