At Quantum Detectors, we design and deliver advanced detector technology for X‑ray and Electron Microscopy used at some of the world’s leading research facilities. Our systems help scientists explore breakthroughs in materials science, medicine, energy research, and beyond. We’re looking for a curious, hands‑on Customer Success Engineer to join our growing team. This is a role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working closely with customers, and travelling internationally to support cutting‑edge scientific technology in the field. If you’re motivated by a mix of engineering, customer interaction, and global travel, this could be the perfect opportunity.

The role

You’ll work directly with customers around the world to install, support, and optimise our detector systems. From commissioning new equipment to troubleshooting complex technical issues, you’ll play a key role in ensuring customers get the very best performance from our technology.

What you’ll be doing

  • Install, commission, and acceptance‑test detector systems both on‑site and remotely
  • Deliver user training following installation
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Manage customer support cases from first contact through to resolution
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams where needed
  • Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to product reliability improvements
  • Travel internationally to research facilities and customer sites (up to 50%)

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in technical support, field service, maintenance, or a similar hands‑on engineering role
  • Confidence using oscilloscopes, test equipment, Windows, and Linux systems
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
  • A proactive, detail‑oriented approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team

Nice to have

  • Experience with scientific instrumentation or imaging systems
  • Programming or scripting experience
  • Radiation safety knowledge or training
