We are seeking an Experienced Chef to join our Care Home The Mead in Borehamwood as Deputy Chef Manager. If you’re passionate about good food and want your work to genuinely make a difference, this could be the perfect role for you.
Full Time – 37 hours per week
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Knowledge of food safety standards and safe working practices
- Willingness to complete relevant training and ongoing CPD
- Experience in food preparation, cooking and service
- Familiarity with hygiene standards in a professional kitchen
- Ability to prepare homely, nutritious meals that meet a wide range of dietary needs
- A team‑focused attitude and good communication skills
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard
- Support and guide kitchen staff, helping to build skills and confidence
- Manage food production processes to maintain smooth workflow and quality control
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
