Quantum Care is a not for profit company providing high quality care services for over 2000 older people in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. Chef Manager – Full-Time (37 Hours per Week)
Schedule: Weekdays + Alternate Weekends
Shifts: 8.30am to 5pm / 9am to 5.30pm
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Role Overview
We’re looking for a passionate and organized Chef Manager to lead our kitchen team and deliver comforting, nutritious meals to our residents. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your culinary expertise and operational skills will make a meaningful impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Create homely, well‑balanced meals tailored to a variety of dietary needs and preferences.
- Team Scheduling: Plan staff rotas to ensure smooth kitchen operations and arrange cover for absences using existing and casual staff.
- Catering Operations: Oversee all aspects of the catering service, ensuring it is safe, cost‑effective, and of high quality.
- Training Compliance: Ensure all kitchen staff complete required statutory training.
- Stock Management: Conduct regular stock takes and maintain inventory at agreed minimum levels.
- Customer Engagement: Communicate regularly with residents and staff to gather feedback and foster a welcoming dining experience.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the catering budget and produce monthly financial reports to track performance.
