We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to help us convert more interested lead Quantum Base print trials and customer onboarding from initial sales meetings through to live production. You’ll work very closely with our customers, our Commercial Team, and the rest of Quantum Base to teach potential customers about our solution, help them get production ready and turn them into paying customers. You will act as the technical authority during the sales process. This is the first external hire into the new Customer Implementation function, so you’ll be able to put your mark on the business and the way we do things. Given that, we’re looking for people who have startup experience, or are happy with creating new approaches where they don’t exist. Our solution is fundamentally a scientific invention, but our IP is implemented using our mobile SDK, our cloud, our manufacturing software and our ink. You will need to have experience with software and technology, however print experience is not required (we have experts who can teach you the intricacies of printing).
Location: This role will involve a lot of international travel to conduct print trials and implementations. When not travelling, it would be beneficial to have at least 2 days per week on-site in either in our London offices or Lancaster University office and lab.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Sales Technical Support
- Partner with the commercial team from an early stage on sales opportunities
- Provide technical validation and feasibility assessments
- Participate in technical deep dives with customers
- Help set realistic expectations around timelines, constraints, and risks
- Lead end-to-end execution of customer print trials
- Design trial plans, success criteria, and acceptance metrics
- Support live production tests on customer print lines
- Troubleshoot real-world issues across data, workflow, and print production
- Liaise with our science team to deliver print trial results and learnings
- Own technical onboarding for new customers post-sale
- Integrate the Q-ID technology stack into our customers systems
- Ensure tools are in place for quality assurance
- Ensure customers are production-ready and self-service through training
- Feed customer learnings back into Quantum Base for continuous improvement
- Help build repeatable trial and onboarding playbooks
- Proven experience running customer trials or pilots
- Comfortable leading technical conversations with senior customer stakeholders
- Able to manage ambiguity and guide customers through new operational models
- Great problem-solver
- Prior role as Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Implementation Engineer.
- Startup or scale-up experience (or very comfortable with ambiguity).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and projects at the same time.
- Familiarity implementing new software or technical processes into existing enterprise workflows or production lines.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
