Joining Our Mission

Shape the future. Make an impact. At QuantSpark, pioneering the strategic application of data, analytics, and AI is at the heart of our work. We empower British businesses and government to thrive—not just for profits, but for measurable human and societal benefit. This means tackling real-world challenges, innovating at scale, and forging solutions that leave a legacy of prosperity and efficiency.

Here, engineers and strategists collaborate daily—compressing years of traditional progression into an accelerated path. As Engineering Manager, you’ll operate at both the visionary and technical frontier, steering teams who build, own, and transform essential platforms and products.

Our Client Portfolio

  • Financial Services & Private Equity: Delivering AI-powered analytics, risk, and operational tools.
  • Retail & Consumer Brands: Optimising pricing, inventory, and engagement through actionable analytics.
  • Asset Management: Developing investment infrastructure and automated risk management systems.
  • Public Sector: Trusted by government departments for fraud analytics, predictive maintenance, and operations optimisation.
  • SaaS & Manufacturing: Driving technological transformation and efficiency across verticals.

The Role

You will lead a multifaceted engineering team at the crossroads of technical depth, product delivery, and stakeholder management. The split of this role is swayed mostly towards developing and coaching a team of 6 cross functional Engineers and managing the day to day aspects of being a Line Manager. You will still be responsible for software delivery and needs will depend on client demand and in-house product development.

  • Oversee and architect delivery of multiple software/data projects, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Guide and mentor software engineers ranging from junior to senior levels, fostering technical growth and a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with product managers and technical leads on deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Drive innovation in engineering processes—promoting best practices, DevOps, and technical standards.
  • Translate technical architectures into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences, bridging strategy and execution.
  • Engage with client stakeholders, managing partnerships and ensuring solution adoption.

You Should Hit the Apply Button If…

This role could suit someone currently in a Lead or Principal Engineer role with experience mentoring junior team members and who want to step up to a Team Lead role. Equally it may suit someone in an Engineering Manager role who wants to focus less on being an IC and take on a more team management focus.

  • You bring hands on experience in engineering, including Python (Flask/Django), React.js, and hands-on development of web solutions.
  • You are fluent in software architecture, containerisation and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • You have managed cross-functional teams, mentored engineers, and championed technical and professional growth.
  • You thrive on breaking down complex technical challenges for diverse audiences, driving projects to tangible outcomes.
  • You’re passionate about DevOps and modern tooling, continuously pushing the envelope on process improvement and code quality.
  • You understand ‘culture add’ and how to inspire a team to do their best work.

I Want to Work for a Company That…

  • Balances visionary leadership with hands-on technical impact.
  • Prioritises meaningful, purpose-driven work and innovative culture.
  • Values rapid learning, ownership, and mission-driven growth.
  • Builds solutions that create lasting impact in both business and society.

I’m Looking to Work With…

  • Diverse, talented cross-disciplinary teams solving complex business and technical problems.
  • Partners and clients who value data-driven transformation.
  • Leadership that inspires, trusts, and invests in emerging talent.

In 3–5 Years I Want to Be…

  • A technical authority shaping large-scale software engineering projects.
  • A recognised mentor who’s grown talented developers and future leaders.
  • An influential leader connecting strategic decisions with ground-breaking technology.

Perks & Benefits

  • £6,000 and 12 ring fenced days per year individual training allowance.
  • Matched pension contributions up to 6%.
  • Private Healthcare (Vitality).
  • Work abroad up to one month/year.
  • 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays, option to buy/sell up to 5).
  • Cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Central London office with socials, events, and premium refreshments.
  • Discounts with major retailers, tech, fitness, travel partners.
