System Reliability Engineer – Quantum Computing Join to apply for the System Reliability Engineer – Quantum Computing role at Quantinuum . Quantinuum is seeking to hire a System Reliability Engineer for our Cambridge-based cloud platform, Quantinuum Nexus. Our team supports quantum researchers at every stage of their experiments, aiming to make working on quantum computers as seamless as sending an email. The successful candidate will be an expert in managing managed Kubernetes instances such as Amazon EKS and the distributed systems built on top of them. Responsibilities include architecture management, performance optimization, security, and cost control. Experience with tools like Helm, Karpenter, and k9s is essential. Ideal candidates will have experience with collecting logs, traces, and metrics via Opentelemetry, and making these available through AWS services like X-Ray and CloudWatch. These insights should be used to ensure Nexus meets high standards for performance and reliability, and to guide improvements when necessary. You will be actively involved in monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues and outages. Programming skills are required to interpret production code and correlate it with monitoring data. Collaboration with the development team is crucial to facilitate quick issue resolution. Required Skills and Experience Experience with Kubernetes and Docker Experience collecting logs, traces, and metrics for distributed systems Experience using AWS CloudWatch to troubleshoot bugs and performance issues Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform Experience working on cloud-based systems where uptime and reliability are critical Desirable Skills Experience with PostgreSQL Experience in continuous deployment environments Debugging and troubleshooting code Professional experience with Python Familiarity with OpenTelemetry SDKs and standards What We Offer Work alongside a talented team in the quantum computing industry.
