Quantifi is seeking a Platform Engineer in London. Reporting directly to the Head of Platform Engineering, you will be a founding member of our Platform Engineering team, building the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that will power Quantifi's move to cloud native SaaS on AWS. We are an established quantitative and risk technology vendor with clients spanning from hedge funds to regulated banks. Our software engineers are talented and experienced, and our goal is to maximise their productivity and reduce their cognitive load by giving them a self-service platform with well-defined golden paths for building, deploying, and operating risk solutions.

You will help design and build that platform as a product, shifting us away from ad-hoc infrastructure management toward a model where engineering teams can confidently own the full application lifecycle without needing deep infrastructure expertise. This is a rare opportunity to define what platform engineering looks like at a successful, growing FinTech from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and building Quantifi's Internal Developer Platform (IDP) on AWS, treating it as a product with internal engineering teams as your customers.
  • Creating and maintaining golden paths - standardised, automated workflows for common tasks such as provisioning environments, deploying services, managing secrets, and observing production systems.
  • Reducing developer cognitive load by abstracting infrastructure complexity behind self-service tooling and clear interfaces.
  • Owning the CI/CD platform and the full delivery toolchain, ensuring engineers can move from code to production safely and efficiently.
  • Implementing and enforcing security controls, compliance policies, and access standards appropriate for regulated financial services clients.
  • Working closely with software engineering teams to understand their pain points and continuously improve the platform based on their feedback.
  • Contributing to platform documentation, runbooks, and architectural standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, with a clear understanding of the IDP and golden path model.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience building self-service developer tooling and internal platforms, not just managing infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and broader delivery toolchains.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
  • A product mindset; you think about internal engineers as customers and optimise for their experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with software engineers to understand and solve their real problems.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to financial data (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Experience with multi-region deployments or follow-the-sun operating models.

How to prepare for a job interview at Quantifi

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Quantifi uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
