The UK Defence Sales Director will join a collaborative team looking to build on current relationships while also forging new ones. This position is central to the growth of our EMEA Public Sector – National Security & Defence team. Working with our Solution Engineering, Product, Marketing, Delivery, and Customer Success teams, you will be responsible for executing the sales go‑to‑market strategy, identifying new opportunities, building our pipeline, winning new deals, and meeting company targets.
What you’ll be doing. Typical responsibilities include working with our VP of EMEA Public Sector, National Security & Defence Market Vertical Lead, and the Director of Government Solutions to define and execute the sales strategy and go‑to‑market plan for the UK Defence Sector. You will consistently deliver against sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the business. Your role will be a combination of hunting and farming; we have a great pipeline that needs nurturing, but we also require someone with a hunting mentality to develop new clients. You will be tasked with bringing together people from different teams, working with Solutions Engineers, Marketing, Delivery, Technology Account Partners, Alliances, and many other areas.
What you’ll bring. A good understanding of UK Defence Sector issues and the ability to ‘advise and solutionise’ with the customer through a consultative, sales‑based approach. A track record of positioning and selling enterprise software, either directly or as part of an ecosystem. Experience building partnerships across System Integrators, Cloud platform providers, and Consultancy organizations. A good understanding of UK Defence Sector operational and buying processes. Experience nurturing accounts and identifying cross‑sell and upsell opportunities with existing clients. Determination to succeed in challenging circumstances. Ability to integrate into effective sales teams and lead opportunities. Existing relationships within UK Defence. Expertise in working and solution‑selling within the UK Defence sector. The ability to be an independent decision‑maker who is also inclusive when evaluating options. Ambition and energy with strong interpersonal skills. Strong commercial and entrepreneurial qualities. A good team player, capable of delivering results in less‑than‑perfect circumstances. Ability to support market changes, flagging these early and reacting effectively and positively. Ability to plan for the future. Can perform effectively in complex and difficult environments. Can achieve success through others. An optimistic outlook and the ability to identify opportunities. Constructive, resilient, and perseverant. You will either hold current SC clearance or have the willingness and ability to achieve it, and possibly DV clearance.
