We are an established electrical testing and compliance company and, due to continued growth, are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take ownership of our Remedial Works Department. This is a hands-on management role requiring a technically competent and highly organised individual capable of managing multiple remedial and small works projects simultaneously.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of engineers, project planning, material procurement, client communication and technical support, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. A key part of the role is the management of project materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying material requirements, placing orders, monitoring deliveries, verifying that materials received are correct and suitable for the intended works, and ensuring engineers have the resources required to complete projects successfully.

This position would suit an individual with previous experience managing multiple small works or remedial projects concurrently and who is comfortable coordinating engineers, subcontractors, materials and client expectations across a busy and varied workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the remedial engineering team.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate remedial and small works projects.
  • Manage multiple live projects simultaneously whilst maintaining quality, profitability and customer service standards.
  • Liaise directly with clients regarding reports, quotations, approvals, project progress and technical queries.
  • Identify, specify, order and manage materials required for remedial works.
  • Track deliveries and verify that materials received are correct, complete and suitable for the works being undertaken.
  • Ensure engineers have the correct materials, information, documentation and access arrangements before attending site.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and clients where required.
  • Ensure all works comply with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress, labour utilisation and completion timescales.
  • Maintain accurate records, job tracking, certification and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and growth of the remedial department and its processes.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and communication at all times.
Requirements
  • Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Strong working knowledge of BS 7671 and EICR coding classifications.
  • Previous experience managing remedial works and/or electrical testing projects.
  • Proven experience managing multiple small works projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience managing engineers and coordinating workloads is essential.
  • Experience ordering, managing and controlling project materials.
  • Strong organisational, planning and administrative skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs and profitability.
Essential Experience

Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous experience successfully managing multiple concurrent remedial or small works projects, including the coordination of engineers, materials, suppliers and client requirements. This is a key requirement of the role and candidates without relevant project management experience within the electrical industry are unlikely to be suitable.
