We are seeking an experienced VP to join our Engineering Advisory practice, focused on delivering application service engineering for low‑latency FX & Fixed Income platforms to clients.

As part of your responsibilities, you will

  • Solace Platform Ownership
  • Own and administer the enterprise Solace Pub Sub+ messaging platform supporting real‑time trading flows
  • Architect, design, and implement Solace messaging patterns for ultra‑low‑latency trading applications
  • Define and enforce Solace best practices, messaging standards, and governance frameworks
  • Tune performance of Solace brokers, queues, and topic hierarchies for sub‑millisecond latency requirements
  • Manage Solace high‑availability configurations, disaster recovery, and failover mechanisms
  • Plan capacity and scale Solace infrastructure to support peak trading volumes
  • Trading Middleware Integration
  • Design and implement intra‑ and inter‑application messaging architectures using Solace
  • Integrate trading applications with Solace message VPNs, bridges, and DMR (Dynamic Message Routing)
  • Configure multicast messaging standards within ENET for market data distribution
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize message publishing/subscribing patterns
  • Implement Solace guaranteed messaging for critical trade execution flows
  • Monitoring & Performance
  • Deploy specialist monitoring systems (Corvil, ITRS Geneos) for Solace infrastructure
  • Monitor message latency, throughput, and queue depths in real time
  • Manage alerts and escalation for messaging infrastructure issues
  • Perform analytics and bottleneck identification across trading message flows
  • Market Connectivity
  • Manage market connectivity infrastructure for FX and FI venues
  • Document and standardize connectivity patterns through Solace
  • Integrate market data feeds and execution venues via Solace messaging
  • Own the ENET application on‑boarding process, with a focus on Solace integration
  • Define messaging connectivity, platform, network, and monitoring requirements
  • Establish Solace messaging patterns and standards for new trading applications

  • Manage data pipelines from Solace message streams to analytics platforms
  • Engineer databases for trade data persistence and analysis
  • Implement tooling for message flow analysis and trade reconstruction

  • Expert‑level knowledge of the Solace Pub Sub+ platform (appliances and software brokers)
  • Deep understanding of Solace messaging patterns: direct messaging, guaranteed messaging, request‑reply, publish‑subscribe
  • Hands‑on experience configuring Solace message VPNs, queues, topic endpoints, bridges, and DMR
  • Proven ability to tune Solace for ultra‑low‑latency trading environments (microsecond requirements)
  • Experience with Solace high‑availability configurations, replication, and disaster recovery
  • Knowledge of Solace monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools (Pub Sub+ Manager, CLI, SEMP API)
  • Understanding of Solace client APIs and integration patterns with trading applications
  • Middleware & Messaging
  • Strong knowledge of complementary messaging middleware technologies (TIBCO RV, MQ Series)
  • Deep understanding of multicast messaging protocols and their implementation on Linux
  • Ability to diagnose multicast data loss, network congestion, and messaging performance issues at the OS level
  • Familiarity with message serialization formats used in trading (FIX, JSON, Protobuf, Avro)
  • Understanding of Global Markets products and Geneos monitoring systems
  • Experience analyzing network packet captures (Wireshark, tcpdump) for message flow troubleshooting
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills, with a focus on network and messaging performance tuning
