SQL DBA – Quant Hedge Fund85k Base 20k Bonus + Pension Quant Capital is urgently looking for a SQL DBA to join our high profile client.

Our client is a $50billion strong Hedge fund with performance figures of 23%.

They trade a number of products across equity and commodities in both high and low frequency strategies.

They have the reputation as one of the best funds globally.

They use a combination of proprietary data, superior technology, and aggressive execution to achieve their trading objectives.

The database administration team at consists of two members of staff who are responsible for all areas of the SQL Server and SAP ASE database infrastructure.

The database estate at consists of around 100 SQL Server instances, (all versions from 2005 to 2016) and 20+ SAP ASE 15.7 instances running on Oracle Linux.

The main responsibilities of the SQL DBA are: Specialization in SQL Server development and administration, with ability to cover SAP ASEStrategy for new databases globally, including hardware and storage design Capacity planning for new and existing systems Working closely with developers, advising on SQL code optimisations and database design New database installations, upgrades and migrations Configure and monitor database backup policies Release database changes to UAT and production environments Maintain appropriate database security policies Development of SQL-based automation systems SQL DBA’s / SQL Database Administrators MUST have: Bachelors, Masters or Ph D in Computer Science / Maths / Stats Exceptional technology skills; recognised by your peers as an expert in your domain Experience of Administration of a large SQL Server estate Familiarity with modern versions of Windows Server (up to 2012 R2)Development of automation systems for the SQL estate Fluency in T-SQLTroubleshooting and resolving database performance issues Understanding of underlying systems, including networks and SAN storage Automation of database maintenance tasks Experience with SQL Server disaster recovery and high availability technologies Database design Familiarity with β€˜exotic’ SQL Server features such as Service Broker and SQLCLRSAP ASE 15 knowledge / experience Exposure to Linux, preferably RHEL 6This fund pays the best comp we have seen in the market.
