Quant Capital is working with a global market‑making firm looking for a senior infrastructure to lead the buildout and evolution of its trading platform across cloud and on‑prem environments. This is a senior technical leadership role with full ownership of infrastructure strategy, delivery, and scale across low‑latency trading systems. This hire will drive a major AWS migration, build greenfield environments, modernise legacy systems, and shape the long‑term engineering roadmap. You’ll lead a small but senior infrastructure function with real autonomy and impact.
The Role
- Own infrastructure architecture across cloud, on‑prem and hybrid platforms
- Lead end‑to‑end AWS migration and modernisation strategy
- Build greenfield environments for trading and research workloads
- Design and operate highly available, low‑latency global infrastructure
- Take ownership of Microsoft services, Active Directory and core networking
- Engineer secure connectivity across firewalls, routing and multi‑site links
- Drive network security, segmentation and access control strategy
- Lead and grow a high‑performing infrastructure/DevOps team
- Partner closely with engineering, trading and risk functions
- Automate provisioning and deployment with IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform/Ansible)
- Scale monitoring, cost optimisation and system reliability in production
Background
- 7+ years in infrastructure within trading, market‑making or high‑performance engineering environments
- Strong AWS architecture and hybrid (cloud + on‑prem) experience
- Deep networking background: routing, switching, low‑latency connectivity
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering and autoscaling systems
- Prior experience building and scaling teams in high‑performing environments
- Confident interacting with technical and trading leadership

- AWS (VPC, IAM, S3, ECS/EKS, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudFormation)
- Networking: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, SD‑WAN
