Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our high profile client. Our client is one of the largest Quant Investment managers globally, with around 20 billion under management. They are mainly quant based but have High frequency and systematic exposure. The role sits with the trading team on the bleeding edge of technology as well as execution. The firm has a reputation for bright minds and interesting ideas for Alpha generation. Technology plays a serious part in their business in an operation that runs 24/7 globally. You will play a serious part in making the London office more efficient in its execution.
The Technical Project Manager will:
- Manage the scope of software-driven projects within Dev, Pre-Production, and Production teams
- Coordinate and control the execution of other support groups’ tasks during release activities
- Plan and coordinate activities for physical work in a data center (physical hardware and network installations) as well as application layer and general concepts for network/server configurations
- Provide services, where necessary, to help product and project teams manage and deploy releases into production
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities including release reviews, pre-deployment meetings, and checklist reviews
- Act as a liaison between all technology departments, understanding requirements, and influencing new standards and processes
- Participate in release, project, and program retrospectives as well as provide detail on inefficiencies, mistakes, successes, and proposed improvements
- Generate and maintain accurate project documentation and project plans (MS Project/JIRA/Confluence)
- Engage in internal and external meetings to gather project requirements and prepare detailed summaries to share with the engineering, operations, and trading teams
Project Managers MUST have:
- Degree in a Scientific or Quantitative field, including computer science
- Experience of financial services
- Experience with project management
- Knowledge of Unix and Microsoft OS administration
- Experience with databases such as MySQL
- Familiarity with networking
- Knowledge of a scripting language (Shell or Python) a plus
- Knowledge of Colo design (a plus)
