Senior Network Specialist β Quant Trading 4 Days in the Office Quant Capital is urgently looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join one of the most prestigious trading companies globally.
This role sits in an experienced London team that is currently designing and deploying new network topology to support a world class trading environment.
The role of the Network Engineer is to ensure the stability and integrity of all aspects that comprise the global trading network which includes the regional data centers, collocated infrastructure in 3rd party data centers and various cloud service providers.
This includes managing multiple projects and configuring/optimizing network services both internally and those integrated with Internet based services.
Network engineers collaborate and are closely aligned with trading systems developers, enabling the technology team to deliver an optimal trading platform.
The sophisticated networks give a distinct competitive advantage so the networking team you would be joining plays an important role in the success of the business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the future of the development of the next stage of these networks.
Day to day: Design and implement scalable, highly available and deterministic network solutions in a multi-vendor enterprise and co-location environment.
Project delivery/management collaborating with internal and external vendors.
Implement and/or coordinate changes following approved change control policies.
Provide L2/L3 escalation support to remediate performance and availability issues.
Identify areas of improvements adopting automation and innovative solutions.
Network Engineers Must have: Degree in Electrical or Computer engineering, Computer Science, or related Information Technology discipline CCIE Routing & Switching (Enterprise Infrastructure) certified or Master of Science in listed degrees.
Minimum of 5 years of network engineering and project delivery experience in an enterprise or co-location environment.
Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols: Unicast: OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC and GRE, VRFβs
Multicast: PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSMSwitching: STP, PC/v PC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, Qo S, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/Vx LANMonitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus
Security: AAA (Radius/TACACS), control planes, device hardening.
This role would suit an experience network engineer who takes pride in their work and knowledge of the sector, you do not need experience in finance but you must understand the mission-critical nature of the industry.
