Ruby / Java Script Web Developer – Rails Fintech 50 Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Ruby / Java Script Web Developer to join our high profile client.
Our client is a brand new investment firm driven by technology.
They are well known in the media as solving one of the common problems for the retail investor and in the current climate this is a unique product.
The company structure is very flat and they have grown to 30 people in almost 6 months.
As their product is web based this position is key to growth and stability.
The position is for a Ruby Web Application Developer to build new and maintain existing Rails applications communicating with a Java API.
The developer will be working within an Agile team to design and deliver high quality applications.
The Ruby / Java Script Web Developer will also be responsible for: To design and develop new applications working in collaboration with existing team members To maintain and enhance the existing applications To design and help implement a REST api To ensure that all development has sufficient test coverage to maintain quality The project will be stabilising the development of their web based platform which is built on Java and AWS EC2 and Ruby.
This project will involve getting to know the platform and then adding greenfield functionality as well as brining the platform together.
The stack is Ruby, Maven, Spring, Data Nucleus on Tomcat.
Ruby / Java Script Web Developers Must have: Educated to degree level or equivalent Experience designing and building Ruby-on-Rails application in a commercial environment Ruby Javascript Ideally Angular or Node. js HTMLCSSRails, j Query, Version control using git Working knowledge of Linux Experience with mobile applications would be beneficial Currently Hadoop is used but not required The environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions.
